Donation to Rotary International’s Polio Plus Program

During the Super Bowl, the Rotary Club of Shady Brook collected donations for the “POLIO PLUS” portion of the Rotary Foundation. Dave Carson and Ward McMasters from the Langhorne Rotary were on hand to receive the check for $400. “POLIO PLUS” is Rotary’s attempt to rid the world of Polio. Helping at Hope Lodge

Hope Lodge is a guest residence providing rooms free of charge to anyone undergoing treatment at Fox Chase Cancer Center or other close hospitals. The Rotary Club of Shady Brook provided dinner and entertainment for the guests on April 3, 2014.  Eight Rotary volunteers heated and set up the food as a buffet and cleaned up after everyone had their fill. Others provided cookies for everyone to enjoy.  This remains a active project for our Club and we expect to do this every few months.  Pictured are Gary Bruno, Alan Agree, Ed Carne, Henry Garcia, Bonnie McKinnell, Burt Forman, Jonnie Stavros and Irv Perlstein.
