Congratulations to Dolly Sokol for her piece which appeared in the current [May] issue of the Villas Voice.
It was thanks to her vision that the Club undertook a project to bring greater awareness to the often unspoken and under-reported issue of Domestic Abuse. With the assistance of Fred Edelman, contacts were made with A Women's Place,a community-based social change organization committed to the empowerment of women and to ending intimate and domestic violence for all,in Doylestown.
In partnership with the community of the Villas of Shady Brook, the Club will be presenting an informaiton seminar on Domestic Violence at which time speakers from A Women's Place (http://awomansplace.org/), will discuss ways in which they help and support the dvictims of such abuse.
